GPE protocol

By implementing this GPE protocol, it is possible to physically connect the cash register system (via RS232, USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi depending on the type of terminal), or any other system with the Ingenico Telium2, Tetra or Nexgo payment terminals and their financial application. Instructions for several types of transactions can be given to the terminal and practically controlled for payment from an external system. Below you will find implementation documents for in-store terminals (desktop and mobile) and for self-service terminals.

The document contains a detailed technical specification of the communication protocol between the terminal and the cash register system.

If your system works on the Windows operating system, we have prepared libraries for faster and easier implementation of the communication protocol.

Test scenarios that will await you at the certification. The document also contains recommendations for implementation. We recommend that you review this document.

Self-service terminals:

By implementing this GPE protocol, it is possible to connect a kiosk/self-service system, or any other system, with Ingenico iSelf self-service payment terminals (iUC160B, iUC180B or iUP250 triplet) and their financial application. Instructions for several types of transactions can be given to the terminal and practically controlled for payment from an external system.

The payment solution for self-service kiosks or machines is integrated using the POS2EPS application, which is installed directly into the device and fulfills the role of the server to which the system and the payment terminal connect.

The document contains a detailed technical specification of the communication protocol between the terminal and the cash register system.

The POS2EPS application is installed in the cash register solution, where it performs the role of a server to which both the payment terminal and the cash register software are connected.

Support for additional protocols

Some of our self-service terminals also support the MBD protocol. Thanks to its breadth, each such integration is an individual project – do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
